Premium Male DNA Test is ideal for those who want to know their surname's origin and father's pedigree. The search results include possible links to named male relatives you can correspond with along with a haplotype assignment and heat map of world matches.
Premium Male Test analyzes your biological father’s direct male line by testing the markers of your Y chromosome. Your Y chromosome is examined at 25 locations for distinctive markers called Y-STRs. The scores for the 25 Y-STRs determine your father’s male line or pedigree, which follows the surname through history.
Males can take this test because they carry the Y chromosome. If a female wants to take it, she will need to ask a male biological relative who has the last name of her father to provide the sample for this test.
Your father’s haplotype is searched in several Y chromosome resources and Ysearch, a database that can provide the names and contact information of males descended from the same male ancestor as you within about the past 500 years.
Your report includes a confirmation of your haplotype’s ethnic origin, database search results, a heat-map of male matches worldwide, your surname origin and meaning, the history and description of your father’s male line, among other explanations.
With a lifelong fascination with human history and cultures and the paths mankind took across the globe, I decided to explore my DNA, starting with DNA Consultants’ Rare Genes from History test to see what it could reveal. Didn’t find similar tests from other companies. Of the 26 rare alleles, my test linked to.
Great service and innovative, accurate test. I was surprised by the richness of my NA heritage. Earlier this year I bought a DNA test from a different company and the results showed zero NA ancestry. Go figure. Use DNA Consultants to check for your NA ancestry.
I was very happy with my results. I actually had some Cherokee markers as well as Saskatchewan tribes markers. The Saskatchewan match was interesting because I recently learned that some of my family had emigrated from Canada to the United States back in the 1800’s. Thank you DNA Consultants for helping me fit these puzzle prices together!
